Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and continuing attack against it by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area close to the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any destruction is not yet known and the American officials has not commented.

Missile Defenses Activated

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - said they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas linked to the the regime, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the government.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with notable success and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.

It said missile fragments fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
