Nico O’Reilly One more composed performance by the youngster following his initial appearance versus Serbia. A teammate did not capitalize on full advantage of an exquisite backheel over the Albania defence. The left-back spot is his to lose at this stage. Seven

Jude Bellingham Played in a forward role down the right and put in dirty work. Demonstrated glimpses of brilliance but dragged an attempt over. Substituted towards the end for Rogers, his rival, after receiving a caution. Seven

The winger Had the team's clearest opportunity in the opening period, his effort smartly stopped from the Albanian keeper. With Quansah holding position, he had to stretch the play on the right although his balls from the touchline varied in quality. Replaced for the final quarter-hour. 6/10

The captain The match-winner netting 77th and 78th strikes in an England shirt. The first a trademark opportunist's goal while the second a classy header after peeling away away from the opposition. At 32, his form is unwavering and the side stand a real opportunity in future competitions with him up top. 8/10

Eberechi Eze Struggled to make an impact out wide. Was presented with a decent opportunity after being played in from a teammate yet the keeper made the save. Rashford produced a bigger influence in his place. 5
