Red Bull has confirmed a major reshuffle for the 2026 Formula 1 season, moving up Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its senior team and awarding British teenager Arvid Lindblad his debut Formula 1 seat. Lindblad, who is of Swedish and Indian heritage, is set to become the partner of New Zealander Liam Lawson at the second team Racing Bulls. This driver musical chairs results in Japan's Yuki Tsunoda exiting the grid post a half-decade in F1. The New British Hope Arvid Lindblad took part in first practice for the Silverstone and Mexican Grands Prix this year. Lindblad has been marked out as a rising talent by Red Bull since he was 12 years old. Regarding the company's junior academy, a senior Red Bull figure noted last year that Lindblad "looks really promising", highlighting his "natural quickness". Red Bull prepared a programme since last year to prepare Lindblad for his potential Grand Prix bow in 2026, featuring appearances in F1 practice sessions at the British and Mexican races. The rookie said it was a "huge honour", adding: "Next season represents a huge step, and I know there's much to understand, but I'm prepared to work closely with the team and rise to it. I am incredibly excited to get started." Lindblad has taken two races in F2 so far this season and is P6 in the standings heading into the season finale in Abu Dhabi. A Major Opportunity for Hadjar The French driver enjoys his first podium in F1, achieved at the Dutch Grand Prix this season. The Frenchman's debut season began in difficult fashion when he crashed during the warm-up lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. However, from that point, he has been one of the most impressive newcomers of the year. He featured an outstanding top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he lies 10th in the drivers' standings. The team principal commented: "Isack has shown impressive growth and proved to be a fast adapter. Most importantly, he has the raw speed that is the number one requirement in this sport. We believe he can succeed alongside Max." Hadjar described it "an awesome move" and said he felt "up for the challenge". The Lawson Decision To partner Lindblad at Racing Bulls, Red Bull have preferred Lawson over Tsunoda. The New Zealander started 2025 with the senior squad but was moved back early in the year. He has found his form at the junior outfit with notable results, persuading Red Bull he deserves more time. Tsunoda, meanwhile, loses his place after a disappointing season. His highest finish is a sixth place, and he has scored a minor percentage of the team's points total. The driver market moves confirm that there remains no place on the Red Bull programme for Irish driver Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 for 2026.
